Pumba revolutionizes urban parking solutions, and Zeron played a key role in taking their beta version to mass production. Similar to our work with Agwa, we developed dedicated electronics to ensure reliable, efficient operations. With a strong partnership with Taga, we’ve helped scale their production, meeting the demands of urban environments.

The Pumba sensor consists of five main components: 1) Processor – A Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 with 4GB RAM. 2) Cellular Module – A CAT-M1 cellular modem. 3) Camera – A custom-developed camera from Odseven, a company specializing in products for Raspberry Pi computers. 4) Enclosure – TAGA developed a custom robust enclosure for the sensor. 5) Arm – TAGA developed a custom arm for the sensor. The journey of Pumba’s Sensor development began with a vision for solving urban parking challenges through technology. The heart of Pumba’s sensor comprises a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, chosen for its reliable processing power, backed by 4GB RAM to handle continuous image processing and data transfer. This module connects to a CAT-M1 cellular modem, allowing seamless global communication, which is crucial for real-time updates.
A custom camera, developed by Odseven, provides high-resolution visuals to capture parking spot availability accurately, while TAGA’s weather-resistant IP67-rated enclosure ensures the sensor endures harsh weather, from scorching sunlight to heavy rain. TAGA also developed a modular arm to support diverse installation needs, accommodating different urban landscapes and ensuring the sensor is optimally positioned. Pumba’s design faced critical challenges—achieving fast, reliable data transmission under varied conditions. The need for resilience in extreme weather influenced both the hardware choices and overall design strategy, resulting in a robust, flexible solution that integrates mechanical durability with consistent, fast communication.
